any ideas of insurance company's that will give me a good price ?
As of this week i pay £1100 per year as a 20 year old on a 400hp Jaguar S Type, as the named main driver through Admiral car insurance.http://www.admiral.com/
I cant see why it should cost more than that for you, unless... you live in a scatty area of London/ Manchester/ Liverpool, or you have 0 ncb and have just obtained your licence?
it's going to hurt, where ever you look. I pay £1100 a year for a 330ci coupe and I have (had) 4years NCB and I've been driving for 15 years.
If you don't want to pay much then fronting will be your only answer and that is generally frowned upon and the insurers easily catch people out these days.

If it is your car and you will be doing all the driving the insurance needs to be in your name.
It will be bloody expensive.
But you will build up some NCB and it will come down over time. The big issue is if you get into any sort of scrape the insurance co. will be looking at your driving history very closely.

Hi be careful as this is classed as insurance fraud if you are the main driver, Try getting a quote and add your father as a named driver I know a few people who do this and has taken a sizable chunk off their insurance quotes. Bell insurance has always been cheapest for myself... admiral are the underwriters.

You will get some much more constructive answers for insurance advice to this thread if you are very, very clear on:
Ownership of the car (important)
Who (honestly) uses the car, and for what purposes? (usage will be the main issue)
Do you personally own any other cars with full insurance? (may be options around mirror policies)
After that, you are in the realms of looking at Owners Club insurers, limited mileage, etc, all of which might give you a legal, valid and useful insurance policy.
But we need more information to be able to help you, and to help you avoid any risk of buying a policy that is subsequently not paid out on.
