I know the thread title sounds ridiculous but it's true!
After 5 years out of the 'serious' car game I am hunting a replacement for my 05 Cayenne S and a sports car.

I would think that this money should buy something that's pretty current, lots of wow and real desirability. But if I'm looking at Ferraris then the 458 has moved the game on so much the the 430 looks dated and you can open a car page without hearing how inferior it is! The 612 is finally getting to a price where it is real value but it's neither big enough for our 'big' car and not really a sports car? That leave the 599 which is currently top of my list, though everyone is now trying to rewrite history and all the praise of the time and saying its too big and twitchy for the UK?! Also is it a bit sensible?

Then looking at Lambos, after watching too many Christian Bale batman flicks I thought the Murci is the ticket but even that is looking a bit boxy now after the STUNNING Aventador! I'm trying to love the Gallardo but it's soo small and do they know they put the wrong doors on? I'm 6'2 and think I'd look ridiculous, even more so in the spyder which I prefer.

So then there is the DBS.. I always loved this car. Don't really want a manual but if I couldnt afford the tip then ok. BUT the new DB9 is coming?! And a new Vanquish. It is shortly going to be "the old shape"! Arrgh!

Porsches are all a bit stiff and I think the brand is a bit saturated so not keen to lump £80k with them, although I do like the new 911. This would be different if i hit the track in the car. Same for the Audi R8 really.

To go more exotic would require finance and that worries me as I am already expecting high running costs. £130k ish for a SLR but on LHD, £105k for a SLS....

I didn't stumble on this money and I'm not giving it up without careful thought. Any ideas peeps??

Same for the big car which has a £40-50k budget ( required to ferry around 2 bulldogs and a boxer) im looking at the new style cayenne but can't get my head around the fact even a 2 yr old diesel is £50k, other option is a big 2010+ Range or even a G55. But the Range is due be replaced and the G55 will likely be LHD. Wife hates estates so only really a 4x4? How much is a toured W12 and what they like??

Thanks all for any suggestions or advice!

Didn't work this long and hard for a BMW 5 series, even with it being a great car

Great car but think I would go for one of the GT Porsches first. I'm just not that in love with the car. Technically excellent but not inspiring.

Hmmmm... Now you might be on to something.... (checking classifieds in other window).

But am I going to want the 430 equivalent? Scuderia is it?

PMSL! I got him back, the car had about 350 bhp with mods and crap handling and no TC. He was a bit scared a minute later!

Put more into the sports car and less into the shed.
Buy a 997 PDk turbo or a 360cs for fun, and a boggo RRS for commuting and dogs..

Or put 150k aside and buy a Ferrari ff next year....

Bit like the beetle then.

How many people say the same crap about the GT-R? What makes a 911 inspiring? The fact it looks like the last 4 models before it, or the fact every cock has one?
