always makes me laugh about electric cars,theres a crappy little thing at one of the companies i deliver to with Green this and Green that written all over it, so where does electricity come from that you charge it up with? DOH

Generally I'd agree with you, but in this exact example:

"The car runs on green electricity which has been generated by wind turbines, run by the Stroud-based company Ecotricity."

unless your in wiltshire who are planning on banning wind turbines anywhere within a 2km radius of someones house!

This. Even if you just think in terms of fossil fuels, electic cars work out more efficient (from source to motive power). The only benefit of ICE cars is quick refueling from zero, and the enery density of petrol/oil over batteries.

There is plenty of scope for both types of car to exist side by side. The more people move to electic cars, the more petrol will be available for petrolheads smile
