Nothing new, it appears this was the case back in '08.

I love the theory that this shows bmw people are cocks - they don't know which are the driven wheels.

What about the idea that bm drivers are drivers, so know that the ability to stop / steer is far more important than the ability to go when it's been snowing?
Anyways, front drive 1 series makes sense - mostly they are the aspirational little car, proper ph people on a budget would buy an older 3 series anyway, preferably an m3.

Disagree, sure a 116i is pretty pointless and expensive for the poverty spec you get - but the bigger engined cars are great IMO.Alex said:
The nothing wrong with BMW group producing FWD cars (they already make the Mini range), but they should not put a BMW badge on them. Create a new brand, or re-use one of the ones in their ownership (Riley? Wolseley? Isetta?).
Whoosh parrot?Someone made this thread to take a rise out of people who don't realise it's not a proper thread. The title is a joke.
I fully expect further new threads, titled things like:
"Paris 2012: BMW M5d shock"
"Paris 2012: Mercedes to buy Renault"
"Paris 2012: New Jaguar is Electric-Only"
..etc.

Why is it a joke thread? There IS a FWD BMW coming soon. That's worthy of debate.Someone made this thread to take a rise out of people who don't realise it's not a proper thread. The title is a joke.

It's a joke thread because Kawasicki has a sense of humour.
It worked as a joke thread for most of us, but it doesn't seem to be working for you, Alex. See how the first few posts say things like "Git" and so on? That's people realising the joke.

Well if you don't have the ability to go then stopping and steering are somewhat irrelevent
