Hi, i'm after some new speakers for my VX220 as the standard ones are terrible!

I've narrowed it down to a couple of pairs but i wanted some advice on which ones to go for. Obviously i'm not expecting miracles in the VX as it's so noisy but i just want something that doesn't sound flat and tinny.

Focal's: http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/focal-access-165ca1...

or

Pioneers: http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/pioneer-tse1702is-1...

any advice will be much appreciated.

I am by no means an audio expert, but Focals can sound a bit peaky (sharp) and in a VX they may annoy you trying to adjust to suit the background noise. (I too used to own a VX!) In a better sound insulated car the Focals may well suit - in fact I have fitted some in my current Mini and they are a vast improvement over the OEM speakers.

So given the two options I would plump for the Pioneers - but I don't have experience of these personally.

Ah ok thanks for your help Mike. Someone on the VX forum said a similar thing, i think the pioneers are probably better suited to the VX. I read so many brilliant reviews on the Focals though so it's a shame the VX has poor mounting holes and that the cabin is so loud!
