forgot to say in OP that it should be capable of track driving, which although the bentley could do, may not be the most "precise" car out on track biggrin

You could drive TO the track in style with the Bentley, and tow an Elise.

Boxster Spyder ubiquitous?

Last time I looked there were only 3 used ones and no new ones left in the entire OPC network!

It's just of the 200 odd cars ever brought to the UK, loads are owned by fanboys like me who post interminably about them in the Porsche forum on here.

They will always be a rare sight on the roads.

Ah, fair enough!

Can't comment on the Lotus option but Zyp used to like his until it was written off and he had to have shards of fibreglass plucked out of him.

I saw a very pretty Aston at the dealers in Wilmslow last weekend - only 8000 miles at £40k but it was 6 years old. I was quite taken with it but had largely forgotten about it by the time I had driven the Spyder home with the roof down via the airport tunnels!

The thing with the boxster compared to everything else is just how special it will feel, hence why the spyder is a must as it just has that something extra about it.

I took a vantage out from wilmslow & I actually really liked it. As you say though, it's far older than other options & the boxsters from the dealer network come with a safety net of 24 month warrenty.

I really like the look of the evora now it's come down to circa 30k, not sure what dealers may offer on them mind you & if lotus disapears you do wonder how that will effect the ownership experience.

Anything else special (gr3, r8 etc) unfortunately involves budget creep.

I wouldn't worry overly about Lotus going under. There is a very strong network of independent specialists out there and most of the bits are nicked from someone else anyway. smile
