Looking to replace our hateful Insignia hearse early next year as it's the worst car I've ever had the displeasure of owning.

Previously to owning it we (I) had an E90 320d which was decent.

We got rid of that as it had an utterly useless boot, hence the move to Vauxhall.

We both like a quick car so there only seems to be one solution. Something with a decent boot and a decent amount of power.

Obvious choice is a 535d but part of the reason that I was willing to get rid of the E90 was because of the BMWs going AWOL.

So, any other options?

Budget would be about 16k, maybe 18 at a push.

Not too old, 2007 or newer, decent spec (no grey carpets and so on), blah blah....

I'm too lazy to use he beta classifieds on my iPhone, so please help me!

+1 for the XF 3.0D - only just traded mine away and was a truly lovely m'way mile muncher. Always felt special.

Not driven any of the above so can't add anything constructive, but I reckon Jag have got the styling of the XF spot on, that's where my money would go...

I remember being very shocked at the stats on the Jag XF 3.0.

271hp and 42mpg

Its the best alternative to a 535d.

Not available in an estate form for between 16 and 18K as per the OP's wishes - the estate has only just been released.

Unless it's some scam Auto Trader advert wink
