Every kilo has to be accelerated, braked, and turned.
Looking at acceleration only, on a 1000kg car with 200hp, (200bhp/tonne) a reduction of 20kgs puts the ratio at 204.1bhp/tonne.
*Cough* Heavier vehicle, same power - 196bhp/tonne Looking at acceleration only, on a 1000kg car with 200hp, (200bhp/tonne) a reduction of 20kgs puts the ratio at 204.1bhp/tonne.

No, extra weight won't change the performance of your car at all, even the added weight of a brain should you consider to use one will not make a difference.

It will change the performance. As to the noticability of the change is debateable...Is this a joke post?

I caught myself cutting all the extra bits off all the bolts on the lotus once. A mornings work and I saved about 500g.
Then I caught myself in the mirror
and realised I could easily drop 3 stone, and still look fat.
Exactly this. I felt like this when I first looked at getting an Elise. I figured I'd be better in a car which wasn't so focussed on being lightweight, since I am a porker.
