Removing car seats?

I'm looking to temporarily remove the driver's seat in my car and I can see it is attached to two rails bolted to the floor. I need these out of the way. Is it simply a matter of undoing the bolts to the carpet and lift the rails, or are there more intricate workings under there I should be aware of?

Assuming they aren't heated or fitted with airbags then yes they are just bolted down, nothing to worry about when removing them.

Yup, disconnect the battery and leave for an hour or so just to be sure. The screws will have a Torx head, available from Maplins or similar; it might be a "security Torx" which has an extra pin in the top and needs a slightly different head, also available from Maplins.

There should be a standard connector which you can unplug. Nothing is 'primed' or 'live' and shouldnt go off without the right inputs from the computer.

As mentioned, disconnect battery, and once unbolted, slowly lift them up to check for wires, an if there are any, unplug them.

Make sure you disconnect the battery before unplugging any wires. I don't know about Porkers specifically, but some cars throw up an airbag fault which can only be cleared with fancy computer equipment (£ at the garage) if the wires are parted.
