Help - Paraffin on clothes

I'm in trouble with the wife.

Last weekend I was cleaning the car and managed to get paraffin on my clothes.
Being the considerate man I am, I stuffed them in the washing machine with other (family) clothes.

This has resulted in all the washing stinking of paraffin despite a couple of long washes.
Is there anything I can do apart from repeated washing?

Soda crystals, I did the same thing but with white spirit.

Vodka !
I did a bit of firebreathing a few years ago, vodka got rid of the nasty taste.

I know it's slightly different but I got diesel on some jeans last week... Quite a bit in fact...

A wwash did fk all... However after coming back from a few hours in a licensed establishment I dag around under the kitchen sink for cleaning items; and natually, being a man, the only thing i recognised was WD40.

I remembered how when I spilt oil on my bike exhaust I used WD40 to break it up and remove it. Man Maths followed:

Diesel = Oil
Steel Exhaust = Fabric - hardness

Therefore using this logic I doused my jeans in a healthy spray of WD40 and left for 10 minutes before then soaking the jeans in the shower with washing up liquid (zesty lemon if that helps, i figured if it can get rid of greasy kebab it can get rid of diesel) and leaving to dry in morning...

Lo and behold the diesel stain is gone!!! But I am left with the smell of WD40...

Pop it into the wash and I am left with a washing machine full of bubbles but it came out not smelling anymore...

I think wd40 has a healthy amount of paraffin in it, I haven't tasted it though!

Just resign yourself to the fact that nothing you do will in any way get you off the hook & that your wallet is going to get a serious rogering at the local shopping park replacing her (perfectly good) clothing.

Febreeze, I know of a couple of people who bypass the washing stage and just spray their clothes with febreeze and you can never tell. Honest.

Just peel a Febreze label off and put it on the WD40 can... Easy!

I've the same problem with a pair of diesel jeans, what brand name should be looking for in Tescos when huntign soda crystals.

They were from Morrisons but I would have thought any will do.
Clothes were washed in the bath, not machine.
