I've just done a search for insurance on confused.com for car insurance on a Porsche Cayenne S, how odd is this:-

All details were the same except for where it is kept overnight:

In garage = £590
On driveway = £558
On road = £545

I know this is all about statistics but it seems mad it is cheaper to have it parked on the road! I'm guessing it is more expensive in a garage because alot of people prang their cars going putting it in/taking it out of the garage??

Any others experienced similar oddities?

If it is being broken into inside a garage, there is less chance people will notice.

Lots of people tend to accidently damage cars taking them into and out of garages. Cars on driveways are easier to nick by smashing your way into the keys because you know which house it belongs to.

Aswell as whats been mentioned above more newer cars are stolen because the keys have been taken from the house (except BMW's at present) rather than broken in to and hotwired.

If its in the garage the scrotes know were the keys are, if its on the street they dont!

I think it's because most people will assume the garage option is cheaper and will click it without checking! Easy 50 quid.
