One lady owner and low mileage.....

I made a point in another thread about "typical car owners". Now I appreciate that I am making a HUGE generalisation but from experience most "normal" car owners do not give the love and attention to cars that most people on forums like this would.
They tend to get cars serviced as minimal as required, very rarely check oil, tyre pressures, use swirltastic hand car wash places etc etc
Whereas most "enthusiasts" would often service their vehicle more often than needed and always use the best quality parts, spend hours washing and claying, polishing etc.
Yet why is that the average person would rather have a car that had one lady owner and low mileage.
For me personaly that would be my worst nightmare
Any opinions? What do you look for when buying a used car? What puts you off?

My sister owns a 54 plate Corsa that she brought from nearly near, it has around 30,000 miles on the clock and is in lovely condition really..............except it has never been serviced. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Short journeys 5 days a week, changes up at around 1,900rpm (so she doesn't thrash it), holds it on the clutch on hills, only ever gets driven within a 10-15 mile radius and has as far as I know never been upto motorway speeds.

I would have thought that most lady owners have their car serviced very regularly. It's the one owned by men who think they know best that would worry me more. Yes, but:Recent example, girl in the office says can I have a look because there are lights flashing on the dash. Yup, coolant flashing, oil light one, MIL on.
Lunchtime I added 2 litres of oil to even get a sniff of oil on the dipstick and 3 litres of coolant before any was visible in the header tank.
"When was the last time you checked these?"
"Oh I've never checked them, it's part of the annual service.... isn't it?"

What about the ones that don't even know there is a service schedule? That's what the MOT is, isn't it? 
Flipside is an enthusiast is more likely to have driven the car much harder. Mechanical sympathy only goes so far.
