Due to our economic climate, and to avoid compulsory redundancies, we have elected to take two weeks of unpaid leave before Christmas.

I now have two weeks to kill with nothing planned and little money to now spend through this period.

Rather than sit at home doing very little, or worse decorating, are there any car related suggestions that won't break the bank.

I'm really looking for a trip, don't mind spending a little bit cannot be extravagant.

To make matters more depressing it will be December and may travel alone as all friends and family are lucky enough to be working through this period!

How much are you "willing" to spend? Ferries & petrol ain't cheap, & neither is accommodation over Xmas!

Done this many a time when I couldn't afford to go abroad for my snowboarding. Log cabin split between 5 people is probably cheaper than heating costs at home!

Are there any rallies, maybe classic cars, at the right time, you could marshal, keep you busy during the day, maybe night as well, may get some food provided.
