I've mixed my cabin stuff up, look:




On the left, is a 2001 E Class and on the right a 2002 E Class. Would I be right in thinking that the one on the left has "COMAND" and the one on the right doesn't, even though the one on the left is older?

Left one has COMAND. To answer your questions;

How good is it? As good as the maps on it. New maps can be expensive/ hard to source for the unit. Early units did not always have a postcode search, but this is not necessarily a problem as it's easy enough to work around by inputting junctions/ streets (which you can look up on googlemaps before setting the nav).

What is it? Fancy stereo and sat nav.

Can I eat it? With enough will and determination, yes.

Thats COMAND APS if I remember correctly. With the right CD it will do TMC.

CD has to go in the unit - so you need a changer for CD Music. IIRC that it does not have twin tuner, so to get TMC tuner has to be tuned to classic FM. TV will be analogue if it has a tuner.

Even though it's got a 'phone' button, it's not uncommon for it not to be used.

But it looks prettier.
