BMW E30 Alpina B6 2.8- What Is A Mint One Worth?

Greetings fellow petrolheads!
I came across a rather interesting and rare Alpina E30 2.8i the other day. Without divulging too much information and possibly annoying the owner, I saw it in a specialist garage in Southport. The car is on a 'B' plate, one of only 259 such cars. It is immaculate, absolutely pristine with a ridiculously low 8k on the clock. I have just done some research on the B6, and it appears to be quite a car. Classic straight six 2.8 Bmw engine, uprated by 30 Bhp, with a 0-60 mph of 6.9 seconds-pretty respectable by today's standards even.
Anyway, I was wondering if any PH'ers out there either own one, or have previously owned one? I would be interested to hear feedback/opinions! What would such a rare Alpina be worth? Just out of interest, the same guy owns a BMW 6 series coupe 635 Csi-with a genuine 1,200 miles on the clock!

It's really tough car to value. Cars like the B6 2.8 and 3.5, like the Hartge H23/26 are a rare version of a standard bodied E30 with engine, suspension and some interior mods.
Yours being a really low mileage will make it too money but top money compared to what?
If it was a B6S or Hartge H35-24 then you're looking at £40-50k+ with that mileage but I'd say £15-20k but I would be surprised if anyone would be prepared to give more than über mint 325 sport or C2 money for it.

That sort of thing is a museum piece and impossible to value, if you buy it you cant really use it or it will shed much of its value.
£10k plus or minus £4k on a good or bad day - but who would buy it and why?
Its not the same as an M3 so you'd have to base the price on other 80's genuine Alpina's (E28,E34) or what is a really clean 325i sport manual worth now? £3k-£5k?

There are a lot of Alpina models built in very small, sometimes tiny, numbers. Ultimately they are only worth what people will pay as there are few comparisons in the market. Of the E30 range of Alpina's the B6 3.5S and the B6 3.5 after that are the rarest and most desirable and as with most E30/E24/E28 Alpina's they come for sale so rarely it's often a case of finding a single buyer rather than seeing what the market thinks.
