Nearly got run over by an Addisson Lee driver

Should I be surprised? Should he have seen me crossing the road in central london rush hour and stopped whilst I crossed before he turned into the road? I had to move out of the way pretty sharpish and he zoomed down the road without as much as a glance. fker.

Good point. I don't think he was near the actual turning when I started crossing, and if he had been and he did an emergency stop and tooted his horn then fair enough. However he could see pedestrains on the road when he was turning in and he just kept on going and accelerated when we moved out of the way. I'm sure he had a VIP on board who needed to get to an emergency board meeting, or he was just a fkwit with an air of superiority about him.

There is a bit of give and take. If you walk into the path of a turning vehicle causing them to brake hard then fair enough, you're in the wrong. If the car has plenty of time to see who's already on the road and is turning in then surely stopping or slowing down till people have crossed the road is the right course of action?

It's a private hire vehicle, so the indicators wouldn't have been used. It would also be doing at least 5mph above the speed limit so would appear out of nowhere.
