Rolling road.. Super fuel?

Guys I've my car booked in on a rolling road, I was wondering would I be better running the car on something like BP Ultimate Diesel on the 2-3 days running up to the rolling road day.

I was thinking this gives the car the best chance possible to give the best power output if its running on a super fuel.

Please correct me if I'm wrong

It may make a small difference but, even if it does, what's the point if you don't use it all the time? The power figure would be unrepresentative.

depends on the car and also doing it just beforehand wont really give it much extra i think unless you are going through a few tanks between now and then.

Going with mates, there's 10 of us so I want the car to be running the best that it possibly can. This matters lol

It's a Saab 9-3 TTiD, has a twin turbo like the BMW 335/535

I doubt it'll make any difference, my Z4 made about 95% of it's factory stated output without mods, but with 70K on the clock, overdue a major service and running on Asda's finest. That was on a road that everyone else said was giving lower figures than it should. In fact my result was a bit of an insult for those that had modified their cars judging by the reaction on the forum

If you really want to chance it then make sure you run the car as low as you dare and then fill up with Ultimate/Super Dooper/Fandabidosy diesel before the test, doubt it'll make any difference but worth a try if you want the maximum figure possible

Why do you only want the best output for the rolling road? It could show 1000bhp on the RR but it means nothing if it goes back to normal as soon as you fill up again.

Not really the case. We aren't talking about cleaning the fuel system out, we're talking about maximum power output, and if the car is going to calibrate itself to take advantage of a higher-quality fuel, it'll do so within a mile or two and you'll be getting the full benefit by that time. Whether it actually will take advantage at all is a different matter

You will want to run the tank very very dry and then fill with your "super" of choice, though, to avoid dilution.

To get logs mapping boost, AFR, fuel load and to make sure there is a smooth torque curve and no unpleasant boost spikes.

I'd put some V power diesel in it. Worked great when I've had diesels.
