I don't usually mind motorcylists. I think 'it's your life to end messily through someone's windscreen, in a tree or under a bus'. But I've seen a few shocking examples of riding these past few weeks. Filtering and undertaking over solid white lines at 70mph, people riding like idiots through rural 30 zones, scramblers on L plates with unsilenced exhausts making noise for the hell of it.
I know that there are some bikers who are genuinely good riders who know what is appropriate and where. But it always seem as the winter draws in, the throbbers hit the roads for one last duel with death before they put the bike away for a few months.

That way I assume every other road user is a useless fking who is out to kill me.
Then it doesn't matter if I'm driving, riding a motorcycle, on a bicycle or riding a space hopper I just treat every road user with the same amount of respect and caution.

I see far more s driving cars than riding bikes. of course there's s driving/riding every type of transport , but the fact remains that (despite having lights on all the time) the number of cars who just don't see me when i'm riding, even in perfect conditions, is starting to get fking ridiculous. it's bad enough in my car , but in the last week i've had a fking close one on three separate occasions (and no ,it's wasn't a lack of observation/anticipation on my part , just really fking stupid driving).......i'm having real trouble justifying to myself why I still ride, and that maybe 30 years is enough.......

Life savers, moved over in the lane to facilitate filtering, tripple checked lane changes in traffic.
However, until I did my CBT road ride I had never realised how daunting it can be on a bike. Even the small stuff like passing on my left when I'm waiting to turn right, or stopping rather close to the rear wheel. I get the half of drivers aren't safe, but in my cars the consequences of their inevitable fkup are unlikely to be fatal.

I check my mirrors and move across normally and occasionally they will make a gesture to say thanks which I appreciate.
However some in slow moving traffic come shooting past at silly speeds I used to ride a bike and frankly they are asking to get knocked off doing it. Nobody expects a bike to be coming past on your inside at 60+ mph when you are crawling in a traffic jam. Just takes one person to switch lanes who is in patient and not see them in the mirror as they are going so quick and bye bye mr biker idiots.
