First time cancelling an insurance policy, how much?!?!

Had the unfortunate situation of having to cancel my policy after only four weeks recently

Insurer is a widely known "specialist" that sponsers a highly popular motoring forum in the UK...

Originally paid just under £300 for the policy, then had to change the vehicle on the policy to something more expensive, only to be given an increased quote of over £600 when I tried - It was cheaper for me to go to another company and insure the new vehicle (for less than I paid to insure the old one) and take the pitiful refund this company gave, only £140

Now, I'd anticipated not getting a pro-rata refund from this company, but less than half back for a month of insurance? That's ridiculous surely?

Makes me think twice before using them again to be honest, and I'd been using them for both my car and bike insurance...

True, I was more interested to see if people thought it was normal as it seemed underhand, even for the insurance industry...

One of the reasons I pay monthly.

Another rouse is their 'admin' fees.

Yeah, because £25 to change address or reg no is justifiable.
