Seeing your previous car going to ground...

I was surfing the classifieds (like you do) and stumbled upon a previous car. My lovely minty e39 530i was there - to be fair it still looked well kept enough but it's had the glass tint-pimped and the advert was written in txt spk...

Weirdly, I felt like reaching out to the old girl - she doesn't deserve a fall from grace in this way.

Now when a car gets sold we all accept that the new owner can do with it what they please - but has anyone else had that same sinking feeling of seeing a previous P&J fade from glory?

Its not fading from glory but its back up for sale.
If it wasn't priced a little high I'd be considering buying it again

I had the opposite. I had a Starlet GT Turbo about 5 years ago that was starting to look a bit ropey and I didn't have the time, money or space to get back to a good condition. I sold it and see it on a car forum a few months later fully resprayed, buffed, polished and refurbed wheels. It looked amazing. I'm still gutted now

One of my GTI-6s that I sold in superb shape ended up showing up, covered in dents, lowered and on for £600 with half the miles I sold it on. I think it's still taxed though so someone has probably sorted it out

I saw my old 1997 Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo on the internet recently. It has been lowered, given wkd rimz brer, and generally pimped. I wanted to go round and kill it kindly.

My old chim was the very opposite , It went to New Zealand and is now in the hands of a tvr nut who is making it even better than when i had it with a full body of resto. Nice to See

My mk2 CRX 16i16 (which I'd had for 7 years and was perfect) was put in a ditch a few months after I sold it - written off.

My mk2 CRX Si (which I'd bought as a fresh import and had lovely tweeked) was driven in to the park of a parked car by the woman who stole it - written off.

My 200SX I spotted a year after I sold it with crash damage - it was horrible and I was glad it got bent.

I have just sent a 1972 Lotus Europa Twin Cam to Australia, so hopefully that will be much more spiffy in a year or two.

Thats my old c20xe tigra up for sale. I did the conversion 4 years ago, it was blue when i had it, with coilovers. This lads completely resprayed it and re-done the interior and tarted up the engine bay. Its not to my taste but I'm glad its being looked after and is still going strong

I owned this e30 drop-top for about a year, back in 2002/3. Had a lot of fun in it - my first rwd car, a great holiday in North Devon, nighttime bimbles around London enjoying the lights and atmosphere with the roof down, and so on.

The opposite from me. I sold a Fiat X1/9 back in 2008 that has since gone on to win several concours. Last time I saw it it was being sold for about twice what I'd paid for it.

Had this, sold my Celica was mint when i got shot saw it around town the other day covered in manga/anime character stickers weird covers over the rear lights big jap stickers on the roof and covered in Ripspeeds finest ste! poor girl was such a good bit of kit i feel so sorry for it...

I wrote off a Diahatsu Fourtrak when I was 17, properly killed it, bend chassis.

About 6 months later we say it again back on the road,

I sold my pride and joy MX5 Turbo and it still gets spotted and is still mint.

Not seen any I had up for sale though.

I think that would depend on what needs doing. From the photos, it needs two new doors, so I'd probably try to find a couple of good ones from a scrapper and fit them myself. Hard to tell what else needs sorting.

I haven't seen it with my own eyes... but my brother in law saw my old Mondeo ST220 a year or so back.

It was a mint performance blue saloon, with black leather interior and all the gubbins. Beautiful car as standard, had really nice... proportions. Just looked right. As this is PH, I am not ashamed to say I wept a little bit when I sold it to gather funds for a house purchase.

Brother in law told me the wheels had been painted black and the wing mirrors chromed. I'm now glad I didn't see it with my own eyes, 'cause I'd have torched it.
