Baby on Board=avoid

We all knew it, the type of clueless, self obsessed fkwit who'd affix one of these to their vehicle is to be avoided. Here though is the proof.

Not wishing to open a can of worms but surely the emergency services are there to try to save all lives. Would a 'baby on board' sign make any difference to the approach of the emergency services?

Slightly concerning that both the Brake and AA spokespersons are so misguided.

AFAIK, the emergency services don't treat vehicles with these signs in them any differently from any other vehicle at an incident scene, nor should they. Triage is triage, the age of the patient is irrelevant in most cases.

The figures, as rightly pointed out, are very flawed. This is a non-story.

I know it says that in the article, but where did this stuff about alerting the emergency services come from? My Dad was a fireman and a car crashed outside our house once. One of the first things he did was a touch search (it was dark) of the rear seat area.

I always thought they were just to warn following drivers to keep their distance.

I was told a "baby on board sticker" alerts the emergency services that there may be a small baby either hidden from view by wreckage or flung from the car and, once again, not immediately obvious.
I was also told that time has been wasted hunting for a baby, due to the warning sign, when the baby wasn't actually present.

The trouble is, you're only going to experience an accident with them if you're in front of them thus not having the benefit of the "baby on board" warning.

Try not talking out your arse when your trying to make a point.

I suspect the real issue here is the child causing a distraction (crying, throwing up or fighting with a sibling) that causes the drivers awareness of the road to be reduced.
