From a fiesta to a ferrari?!

Ok I came across a thread where a member on here has managed to make a massive profit and has been able to own some seriously fancy cars.

Now before anyone says it....Yes I am jealous.

But I'm very cynical, and I honestly don't think regardless of how "lucky" or very business minded someone is that they can start off buying a fiesta costing just over 2 grand and then a few years later own a ferrari, whilst having owned a gtr, rs4 etc etc in between by simply buying cars and "cleaning them up".

I don't doubt that someone can start from nothing and be successful, I just doubt it's how the media (and member) have painted the picture.

I know I will probably get flamed for this thread, and likely get told to mind my own business, but I'm not trying to find out how he's done it, just merely saying my opinion (which yes I know no-one cars about )

I'd like to know other peoples opinions.

I see your point. But how else could he be making the money? The guy is very transparent with his finances, I doubt he's pushing drugs.

I don't for one minute think he's selling drugs, or doing anything illegal.

Theres many ways to make money, not sure if it was him or someone else but someone was selling fishing supplies on the side, making a fair amount.

Would hate to suggest the cars are his fathers/uncles etc and he's still got the Fiesta.

I believe it was the guy who has had the fancy cars.

If he's made a successful online business then that I'd believe.

But the way the online articles and even the member have painted the picture is that it's been simply by buying and selling cars.

I just don't believe that.

I just can't believe that someone can start with a 2 grand banger and suddenly start owning supercars, without having a major income coming from somewhere.

Why cynical? Depends on your skills and determination this is definitely possible. I think the OP of that thread still lives with his parents so that would negate some costs.

What was the car after the fiesta?

I want to clarify that I'm not suggesting that the guy is dodgy, or doing anything untoward, but simply that I reckon he's exagerrating how he's been successful. Even the insurance he was paying was absolutely ridiculous, even if he had a few years no claims and had a good psotcode the prices seem worlds apart from what I've ever seen.

We're not talking a cheap 10 month policy on a common hot hatch, these are supercars and he's paying less than 30 year olds pay for diesel eco boxes.

I'd love someone to give me a hypothetical list of cars and potential profit made from selling them starting from a 2 grand banger and working up to a super car.

How much can you even make on a 2 grand fiesta to get started? What would the next car be?

He wrote off a gtr, and then suddenly gets a ferrari, I can't see him making that much profit to step into one of them.

Even if the insurance gave him a nice sum, where the hell was the profit made?

On this site there are people that really know there stuff, so I'd love someone to do a hypothetical list of cars to buy and sell starting from a 2 grand car working your way up to a ferrari.

It is possible to do something along these lines if you're very lucky / buy the right example. I've had 11 cars since I turned 17 in 2004 and am probably slightly up, all told. I've lost a bit on some, but made a bit on others. I fear my current Mk2 Focus RS has thrown a spanner in the works, though.

The car's he has/had are sold through dealers near to him I think so they are dealer backed,and IIRC this car was damanged/written off after a freak hailstorm which put dents in nearly every panel on the car

Frankly how OP finances his cars is none of our business. Why can't people just relish and enjoy the pictures instead of starting pointless threads like this?

I'm jealous too as I would've loved to make money whilst owning awesome cars but I know its not my place to question someone's success. Will the world be a better place for you if you know everything about the OP?

I'm not wanting to know how he buys his cars. I was simply stating that it certainly isn't from simply buying an selling cars.

Whether he's got a successful online business, a good job or his parents have helped him makes no difference to me.

I just don't think for one second he's done it buy starting with a 2 grand fiesta and worked his way up to a supercar buying and selling for a profit.

I'll say again I DO NOT CARE HOW HE DONE IT, BUT I 100% DO NOT BELIEVE THE STORY THE MEDIA HAVE PORTRAYED.

IF this thread is so pointless then don't post on it, don't read it, just ignore it, report it to a mod who can then make a judgement call on whether to keep it open or not.

Firstly , well done to him , he's living the dream

I agree though , I think every time he sells a car he puts some of his own cash in , cash that would be easy to accrue given he lives with his parents therefore minimal outgoings and has a reasonably good job with no doubt commission based rewards for hitting targets.

Insurance , I'm not suggesting he does , but hypothetically he could still be insured on the Fiesta , full comp entitling him to drive other cars not belonging to him. His exotica could then be insured by someone ( his father ? ) who could get favourable quotes .
