They look superb really aggressive, a corvette v8 under the hood, huge boot huge interior the noise (though not quick- relative but I wish they could be quicker) Maybe a Bathurst S is the one to get?
Also anyone see the Bathurst V8 race... 0.3 seconds after 6hours and Holden just nipped it pushing it all the way and drifting like a bugger on those last laps my sort of racing.

If you don't want to upset your neighbours then you can fit a dash switchable Wortec system. Watch the video to the end for acceleration examples, and plug in some decent speakers!

No Vauxhall switchgear present. Won't hit those speeds without some mods. Standard will see you into the 160+ zone, but not more (once the limiter is raised). Corvette V8

They sound very underwhelming on the standard exhaust imo, which is no surprise as few cars sound amazing out of the showroom anyway. If you want it to sound like a racing VXR8, ideally you will want a full exhaust system customised to your car; new exhaust manifold and downpipe, no cat and a straight thru pipe all the way to the exhaust tip. However, it will not pass and MOT like this, and you will go deaf driving it without ear defenders - expect a noise output of 125db+.
On the other hand, a slightly more liveable system, and one that will be less damaging to your hearing, is just to have a straight pipe after the cat, no centre silencers and no backboxes. Of course, this will still be very loud, I have a similar system on my Civic Type R and you can hear it from a mile off. It will also drone like mad in top gear at 60+ mph and your wife will probably hate it. It's also technically an illegal system, so you'll want to take care driving around the plod as they will quickly note you don't have a true silencer and you'll have to remove it from the car. If you have to use the car early in the morning or late at night, you will need to master the quick getaway to avoid pissing your whole estate off. If you ever have to start work early in the morning or through the night, and need to start the engine to get the heaters working to de-ice the inside of your car, forget it.
A custom catback with no centre silencers, but with backboxes in place (not too big, not too heavily baffled) will give you some of the tone and some more volume without being too intrusive. You won't get the true, super-aggressive tone of the car, but you won't have the downsides of the noise. Know what you are getting into before you take the "loud" plunge, and if you still go down the "loud" route, then I salute you, because that's what I'd do too!

A few years ago I did some work for Vauxhall on these VXR trackdays and often drove or was driven (eeek!) in VXR8s.. I loved them, they were a bit basic but were perfectly comfortable plodding along and if you hoofed it they were grunty, sounded the absolute nuts and with the TC off would go sideways without breaking a sweat. Brilliant car for no money and couldn't really understand why people (who most likley hadn't been near one) said they were a bit s
