Give me some suggestions

The wife has decided my Z4m coupe has to go as we need rear doors and seats for the kids (depite having an estate too). I can't think of many cars I'd want that fit my criteria of:

A bit fast (but I dont need anything quicker than the Z)
4/5 doors and seats
An event to drive (which the Z4 always is)
suitable as a daily driver (and I do plenty miles, so I dont want a 250 miles fuel range).
Budget upto 30kish

The obvious one for me is an RS3, but it seems a bit meh, a bit too teutonic and unexciting. A Golf R doesn't seem different enough. I did think a Litchfield type-25 would be a bit interesting.
The e90 M3 saloon or E60 may be ok, but the fuel consumption is likely to get tedious after a couple of months.
The wife suggested a Cayenne turbo, but while it is clearly very capable, exciting is not the word I'd use for a 2.5 tonne off-roader. Very fast, yes.
A PH classifieds search throws up some other Audi estates (S6, RS6,etc), Jags, rally specials, but not much else.

So, what have I missed that might be of interest?
And what is type-25 like day to day?

I had a Cayenne and I wasn't really impressed.

Only things I can really think of are AMG Mercs but you seem to be wanting 30+ mpg. I can't think of anything in the sort of speed leagues you are talking that will do that except for big diesels but you saying you want occasion I doubt this would work.

On the subject of the Type 25, I can't quite answer but I can say I used a 400+bhp Impreza P1 as a daily driver. It was absolutely fine with it and would still do an average of about 24mpg. It's a bit laggy but I guess this is a lot less on the T25 due to the bigger engine, better turbo and 6 speed box.

I'd prefer something smaller, lighter and lower powered than the z than something larger and more powerful.

If you want smaller and lighter than the Z4 how about a GT86 or BRZ? Decent fuel economy and it's a 2+2

After a decision like that only 1 option. Load up the health insurance and arrange for her to have a nasty accident. Then spend the proceeds on hookers, a 458 and some bus passes for the kids.
