Have got a 1.4 TSI 122PS and was wondering if anyone knew of any places offering remaps?

Just verify I looked on superchips website and for the bargain price of £249 they can squeeze and extra 6 BHP from my french 4 cylinder engine.
On a more serious note I know a few people that have had ECU chips done mainly to VAG 1.9 tdi engines and the results do seem to be pretty good to both performance and economy.

Stick to the big boys, ignore bluefin. Jabbasport do a good job at custom mapping (speaking from experience), there's awesome gti, AMD and so on...
Bluefins are hugely popular in the Ford ST mapping circles, it's an easy and quick way to gain decent amounts of power and torque. You can download your current ecu settings into the handset, transfer it to Superchips & they will send you a map for your car via the handset to upload via your ODBII port. The bonus is that with the handset you can always revert back to the original too if you want too. Changedmyname said:

During a service your car will be plugged in for about 20 seconds whilst the tech resets the service light (if he hasn't reset it via the dash panel manually that is). The only time you need to worry is if you put a claim through for something like a new turbo, and even then I've come across examples of warranty paying regardless...lindrup119 said:

Bluefin, DNA, Viezu (all use similar tech) are bigger names worldwide than AMD and awesome gti. I have Viezu, a mate has DNA, another has APR and another has GIAC. These are all GTI's or R's with similar mods. There is on average 2kw below the best and worst of the big name tuners, with most of that difference also shown in the before dyno runs.
Also a member of a vw golf club and these results are consistent.
A good custom tune is a must if you are going big turbo or substantial mods. But for a basic remap it really isn't needed.

i know what a bluefin is, from experience they dont produce the results as a proper map from any of the big boys will. They are ok, thats it. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
