Why?

Why expect people to spend their time and money to call you to find out?

Why do you want to repeatedly spend your time and money disclosing the price on the telephone to numerous people?

I just don't get it.....

Doesn't it usually apply to very expensive things and it may be a certain price for a certain reason that can't be made apparent in the advert?

Also allows people to get the spiel over the phone on something they may not have considered?

If it's that expensive that it's POA then generally I assume you wouldn't get too many calls?

What if I can afford it though? If I was stinking rich I'd still want to know how much something is without having to talk to some dickwad sales person. More so if it's something really expensive.

Perhaps it's because their asking price is significantly more than others selling similar cars?

I'm in a position, luckily, to be able to afford some of the stuff that they list as POA and I wouldn't even entertain the idea of talking to them. Their loss really. I find it an idiotic sales technique.

But if that were the case then you'd know the price without needing to call.

You would then only be calling to arrange to have the car 'verified' and valued ahead of negotiating the purchase.

POA products work a different way. There isn't a price as such.

It's silly when dealers use it on normal cars and frankly I wouldn't deal with a firm using it as an annoying sales tactic.

But it's the right system for 'collector' cars for a series of obvious reasons. The most obvious one being that if the owner decides to remove it from the dealer as Bonhams have announced a special event then you are fked if there has been a published price in the public domain.
