List of cars with space savers?

Ok here is a tough one, Is there a list where I can get hold of which car manufacturers issue space savers as standard equipment?

I've done the usual searches but I am really struggling in getting hold of this info if in fact is actually available.

Any pointers?

Surely most do? I've had spacesavers on all my cars from at least a 1996 Golf GTI.

Neither of ours do - the Octavia has a full-sized spare and the Elise doesn't have a spare at all.

It's the sort of thing they keep quiet as it can only put people off.

The latest wheeze (as per my Volvo V60) is to not even bother with a space-saver, just a bottle of gunk and a Continental Tyres branded compressor.

RX8 had nothing in the boot apart from a foam can.

My Merc C Class has a space saver - didn't specify it from new so it must be standard.

I had a new MX-5 as well, came with a can of foam.

Previous car was a Mk6 Golf - had a space saver

Missus had an 09 plate (previous shape though) SEAT Ibiza. Had a space saver.

Is this in response to the recent Watchdog feature on Tyre Foam becoming increasingly standard fit?

Weirdly you dont see many cars on the road with a space saver on. I do a lot of miles and if I see one a month I would be supprised.

The reality is though, that a puncture occurs something like 1 in every 100,000 miles. I'd prefer it if a car did have a full size spare, but its not the end of the world if it doesn't (like my Elise). There are many things that can fail on a car in that time that cost less than a tyre and take up the same space, for example a battery.

I have a space saver in my boot. Mondeo ST TDCi.
Would prefer the standard alloy to be in there but I guess the spacesaver weighs less.
Guess it shaves 5 seconds off the 0-60.

I love the way the 13-year old Sunday Times journalist suggests that the weight saving would be better achieved by making cars out of aluminium rather than steel.

Because (I guess) he saw Watchdog program where an idiot tried to fix his wheel at the side of the road and failed miserably.
In fairness, I woulden't bother with the useless gunk bottle/pump solution, and just buy a can of Holtz Tyre Weld, which in my personal experience, works perfectly every time. Obviously, if you whack a pot-hole and seriously split the tyre you're stuffed. But for most normal nail-in-the-tyre punctures, Holtz is the best solution.
And before anybody mentions it - you CAN repair the tyre afterwards. It washes out easily with water (again, I have personally done this). Don't listen to the bks about not being able to repair the tyre afterwards - they just can't be bothered to get the hose out and would rather sell you a new tyre.
