Moving on, sounds like an interesting potential union. Didn't Cosworth have some involvement in a tuned Subaru not that long ago?

Make more sense for McLaren to buy Cosworth. The original McLaren F1 engine was Ilmor, two ex cosworth engineers. McLaren bought into them, then it became the 'Mercedes' engine. Then they'd have a source for a F1 engine, and also their road cars.
