In these depressing times a good deed feed to match against the ‘OSTTMYT Knob’ thread…..because there are some of us who haven’t given up on humanity yet!

So to start, the honest lady who after smashing into the back of my Boxster (I’d had it for 3 days), left her insurance details under the windscreen wiper…..very cool IMHO!

I nominate myself.

I parked in a pharmacy car park and made my way to door and walked past a Merc 190E, it looked immaculate. An old guy was stood outside and shouted me over saying he wanted to ask me a question

He asked which car stood out to me, I presume as he saw me glancing over at the Merc. I told him it was the Merc, he shook my hand and said thanks, it was his car. I congratulated him on the way he kept his car looking so tidy and he told me he was offered £1k by a dealer for it last month.

I told him to keep it and bid him farewell. I hope I made his day, so therefore I think I should be nominated.

I nominate an exhaust when it pops and bangs when being driven hard. Still remember someone giving it the beans in an Asta VXR 'burg in Southport, it sounded brilliant. I know it won't be the last word in a good sounding exhaust but to me it sounded pretty good.

Most days aren't cool.

An 80+ year old woman lives near me and drives an immaculate 911SC.
Her husband died about 20 years ago and she never changed it.

She is always head to toe in expensive designer clothes but still drives a 35 year old car.

That is cool.

On a cool note...the engineer who wheeled out the Auto Union 'Silver Arrows' car at FOS and proceeded to rev the nuts off it for 4 to 5 mins.....each back fire made the crowd leap back only to be drwan forward again. COOL!

When you see something like a Renault 5 or a Mk 2 Fiesta trundling down the street.

Both uncool cars, but think about it: these are cars driven by people who really don't care what you think. That is the definition of cool.
