Nobody can get access to your paypal details just from you looking at a website. Can't see how it would be linked to Auto Trader.

paypal is one of the most protected services you can use and unless you gave your password and email out

and i'd say auto trader would have a huge virus protection thing running

Have you purchased anything for £36 recently? Visited any other websites? Used PayPal for any other reason? Use the same email and password from PayPal for any other site?

Like others, I'm utterly lost at the connection between AT and PayPal. A trojan cannot be activated merely by looking at something!

Have you placed an Autotrader advert at some point and used Paypal?

Paypal won't authorise a transaction without the site taking you to the official pay pal website to confirm the order. The only way that can happen is if you have added them to your list of pre approved transactions.

What does the payment come up as on paypal? it should have the name of the person or company that the payment was sent to.

I'm still trying to work out why browsing auto trader has any connection to an unauthorised paypal transaction....

Unless obviously the paypal transaction says auto trader.
