Avoided a head on collision around a blind bend

On the way home, there is a 2 lane road after a right turn. The 2 lane road is the usual 50-70 km/hr, and it peels off after 50 metres to the left, around a blind bend, about 70 degrees. On the right, is usually a bus pulling out.

Every day on the way home I do the same thing, turn right, avoid the bumps in the road, and go in to the left lane, and go around the corner.

Every day, I also say to myself, I wonder if some idiot would ever come up this way - and then chuckle to myself, thinking, wouldn't happen.

Yesterday it did - as I went around the bend, someone was steaming down, 50+ km/hr.

Except this time, I was on the right hand side as there was no bus.

From this day on, I will be glued to that right side!

please drive correctly and stick to the left hand lane, if your in the right hand lane you will be risking a head on collision !!

and get your speedo fixed to correctly show MPH

FYI, not in the UK and it's a 2 lane road, both lanes, going the same way

It was a bit hard to follow without the additional detail.

IF you're going left you should always be positioned as far over to the right as you can to maximise your visibility around the bend.

Agreed, but just to add, it's a dual carrageway. It's standard to use both lanes. Hence, why it was so worrying!
