I had wondered how hard it was to get tyres for old supercars, I remember reading about the XJ220 tyres that were specially made for the car, these days when their manufacturer (Pirelli I think it was) makes a batch, you either buy a set or you wait until they make another load, whenever that might be.

VTR was 14s, 106GTI is 14s. I'd be surprised if VTS is 16! Although I could be wrong.

Eitherway I was wondering about 265 35 15s and if they were possible to fit onto a 106Gti. Would make for interesting grip levels.

Just checked, they're out of stock

Tirerack in the US have them in stock. I've bought from them in the past when there was no stock in the UK. Pretty good service. All marked the same as our tyres too.

Fit, probably. Problem I've had in the past is balancing. Many places can't balance wide tyres because the shroud they pull down over the top part of the tyre when they spin it on the machine isn't wide enough.

I tend to go somewhere that deal with wide wheels on a regular basis and have my tyres fitted

Saxo VTR came on 14" with 185/55 R14 tyres as did the VTS until late 1999 until 2003 when the VTS used 15" with 195/45 R15.

No production Saxo ever used 16" wheels.
