Tyre stuff. Website and Branch not the same price???

In the junk mail today was a leaflet for Kwik Fit with a 25% off tyres voucher, and as the 911 is in need of some tyres, I checked the price on the website then called my local centre. The centre were unable to get close to the price on their own website?

He even went on to say they didn't have web access to be able to verify their own website so were unable to price match themselves.

What a crazy set up.

It's more common than you think - PC World / Currys etc., won't match their own web prices.

Mostly it's because the web prices are subsidised by head office - but local branches have to keep within their margins.

Isn't the solution to order the tyres and fitting online? - I did that with my winter tyres - ordered on a Sunday, had them fitted on Friday.

I know they are monkeys, but was tempted by this 25% offer.

Ah well. It makes sense that they have their own margins, but to need to compete against their own HQ is mental.

They offer a fitting service and you can choose where you go to get them fitted.

Halfords do this too.
I find the remedy is to order online, via my phone, go have a coffee and come back an hour later to collect my "reserved online" items at the web price.
Recently did this with a booster seat that was 1/2 the store price.
Stupid setup really as most people now have the ability to whip out thier smartphone and check/order online there and then.

Euro Car Parts are the same, simply can't match the 25-30pc off in store. I've been known to whip my iPhone out at the counter
