Insurance : Mental.

My insurance is due for renewal on the 19th of November, and having the (expectedly laughable) renewal from Swiftcover, thought I should start shopping around a bit.

The car is an MG TF 160, which does <5000 miles a year, not used in peak times etc... etc... etc...

This last year I paid £380ish fully comp, but I can't get it under £500 at all this time around. I did some quote mid year too, and it was about the same as I had paid last year.

Any insurers in particular that I may have overlooked? - I'M 23, had licence for 6 years, 5 years no claims, no motoring (or any!) convictions etc... etc...

Give HIC a call, Ask them to quote for the car standard (If it is standard) and then with a cheap mod on it (Aftermarket air filter or something). They have a specialist modified car scheme with very low entry requirements (Compared to other insurers) - Saved myself around £500 a year on both the policies i've had with them by chucking a cheap (£30) air filter onto the car compared to insuring it as standard with other mainstream insurers. They have an online quote section now, But im not sure how accurate the prices are for modded cars on it!.

If you only do very low miles are you able to insure the TF on a classic policy yet? I've seen people posting on here about being able to insure modern volvo saloons as classics so assume the TF may also be able to go on one?.

Thanks, might be worth a go! The TF is standard at the moment.

I'm not sure, it is on an 05 plate, so I assumed it would be too new for a classic policy.
