Searching for a car is annoying - i go around in circles.

I want rid of my current car. I want a diesel, something with low-ish miles and 5-6 years old at most.

This is the story of my car searching for the last 2 months:

>Have big budget but don't want to spend because im selling my house
>Look at cheap vectra's/octavia's/a4's etc nearby.
>Cant find one nearby i like, start searching afar.
>Find a nice one, decide it's too far away and the distance to travel doesnt justify the cost or purpose it will serve.
>Look at expensive bmw's that i can afford but dont want to break the bank.
>Look at cheap bmw's with 90 million miles on and not the spec i want.
>Look at cheap vectra's/octavia's/a4's etc nearby.

Rinse and repeat.

Anyone else go round in circles for months when looking for a new car? So fking annoying. I have about 10 tabs open in the browser right now, all of cars i've looked at 5 times before, and at the end of the night, will go "nah". Close the tabs, start again tomorrow, and have the same 10 cars open at the end of the night.

1) Decide what car I want, and at what price
2) Buy it

I'm the opposite. I often browse the classifieds just to see what is around and can do similar to you but I'm only dreaming/entertaining myself. When it comes to actually buying a car I will look at a couple and buy within a week, I can't stand the waiting when I'm excited about swapping cars, has led me to buy a couple of duffers in my time though.

To be fair OP you sound like either a fussy git or somebody who hasn't a clue what he wants.
If you can't find a Diesel then you really have problems as there are millions for sale out there.

I'd say £25k is a pretty big budget.

I don't think I'd have that problem if I had £25K (or even half that) to spend.

Try shopping for a decent car for a grand or less. Especially if you want something interesting, and at the same time, something that won't rape your wallet. Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it.
