What pizza delivery car?

Hi guys,
I'm hoping to change my Focus 1.8 soonish as it's not best suited to ferrying Domino's around with a current average of 32mpg. I really enjoy the car but can't be losing money on the petrol allowance (which happens sometimes, depends on location/how you drive) when being paid minimum wage also! It would be great to drive and not worry about what fuel is being used.
Budget is up to £2k. Looking for something economical, fun and tough (if it's not being shunted in the car park, it's doing hundred-point-turns lost in the middle of nowhere). I would really prefer a petrol just on an enjoyment basis but, if the diesel case can be persuasively argued, I will listen!
So, the list so far:

Rover 25 - Just like them, should be cheap to get hold of.
Fiesta Mk 6 - Shared a Mk5 1.25 with Mum whilst at uni and it was great fun. Only reason I didn't get a ZS was I found it uncomfortable to sit in. Are these later ones any good?
Honda Civic - Whatever I can get hold of tbh, as it will be reliable and I quite like the old (EK9?) 3-doors.

Agreed, 100's of local takeaway drivers can't be wrong - I guess the hard bit if getting to one for sale before they do.End thread.
You could add a bit of contingency and get something good in the snow so you can deliver to places others can't when the weather turns.
^ This, don't change your car now if it's only a temporary job, wait and suck it up until something better comes along or get a 2nd. I'd wager you'll only regret getting rid of the Focus, especially for a Micra or Diesel 106.
Or, if you absolutely must change it, SORN the Focus if possible and run a proper snotter around in the mean time.

Yaris 1.4 D4D, my mates brother has a 2003 one and does a lot of combined driving every week, last time I checked he was getting around 80 mpg and that's around here where there are loads of hills etc
IIRC the earlier ones are the ones to go for in terms of economy as apparently Toyota messed something up on the newer ones which makes them less fuel efficient

Getting there warm, in comfort, dry, safe and a little late is a lot higher on the PBDPS (Pizza Boy Delivery Priority Scale) than getting there wet, cold, dangerously and on time.
As for car, as above really, Yaris 1.4d: (bit expensive but ideal)
