A lot of garages use chips away so could be done my them either way. just depends on how much your being charged

How about a third option of getting a quote from an independent body shop? Will probably come in somewhere in between both quotes and you'll get a proper repair, ie not a smart repair at a cost well below the main dealer quote.

My neighbour has a similar one between door and front wing, it cost him about £300 an independent body shop. The dealership is taking the piss, just find a reputable body shop local to you, or ask on the regional forums on here if some one can recommend one.
