PG1 Gearbox Problems - Different variants?
Discussion
So, my 1.8 45 needed a new gearbox, which I found fairly easily from a local Mg Rover spares company.
I checked about 5 times when I picked it up that it was a PG1 gearbox suitable for use with a 1.8 K series - well - it's not.
Just had a call from the garage who are supposed to be fitting it to say that the starter hole is in the wrong place completely on the new box.
I've called the spares company and they're ringing me back - but what's the score likely to be? Are the different variations of the PG1 box? Or have they fobbed me off with something else?

The PG1 was used on a number of different Rover engines, including the KV6, K4 series, T series and the L series diesel with several different bellhousings according to application. It might be possible to swap the bellhousing from your old box, but you'd probably be better of asking the the MGRover forums.

Thanks, have also asked on the MG Rover forums, but thought there was probably a higher chance of MgJohn seeing it here!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
