How to integrate Android and Spotify with OEM audio?

Hi all,

I've got an Android phone and want to try and integrate it into my Focus, I would strongly prefer to keep the OEM head if I can as I will shortly be running an amp to it and would prefer to keep the steering wheel controls.

I've previously had a Parrot MK and didn't really get on very well with it, I certainly didn't find it reliable.

Is there a similar piece of equipment on the market that will allow me to integrate the phone for handsfree usage AND integrate the Spotify music player? I understand that there are kits that will allow me to control the phone via the steering wheel (think they plug into the CD changer port) and that if using standard media player they would allow track skip etc. But will they work and offer similar functionality with Spotify? If I could, I would prefer the audio to be streamed over bluetooth.

Possibly this? I'd never heard of it until yesterday (Co-incidentally) but its now top of my want list

Doesn't retain the OE head unit, but does have steering wheel controls and some good fascia panels for fitting it. Worth a look?

I had Ford wire an aux in into my Focus, so that i could play spotify through the standard headunit.
Is that what you meant? i found your post a little confusing.

Not quite, an aux input is the most basic form of what I want but would probably do at a push. Is your's a MK1?

What I mean is I want a kit that can bluetooth connect the phone to the stereo, act as a handsfree kit, play my music through the stereo from Spotify (again via Bluetooth) and get the steering wheel controls to work directly with the phone.

That is the dog's dangly bits!!

ETA - it wants to be at that price! Probably a bit much for me seeing as I doubt I'd fit it in a more modern car if I changed to something younger!

Hey, you never specified a budget! it's £299 at Halfords at the moment if it helps?

It is a tempting product but I've established that I'd still need a wired connection to get the mirrorlink functionality working with my phone. On those grounds I think I'm just going to get an aux connection for now and then revisit the subject when I have a Canbus equipped car.
