Evening PH'ers. This isnt a what car, its a what should I do about a car!
Currently running a Fiesta TDCi, 53 plate vintage, just on 97k now, full history and just MOT'd. Used mainly for 35 miles a day commuting, couple of 30 mile runs on social business a week, 100 mile family visits few times a month and any other running about I do.
So almost at that point where its going to hit 100k and immediately in the eyes of much of the uninformed public it becomes scap value. Also, I'm at the point I'd like something else.
Add to that I recently changed roles, resulting in a better than expected wage rise giving me £150pm I wasnt expecting - currently squirreling this away.
So my options :
a) Sell Fiesta, take proceeds and add to the pot with £1.5k to £2k savings and buys something else, probably a medium to family size diesel with the total pot.
b) Sell Fiesta, take proceeds and add to the pot with £1.5k to £2k savings and buys something else, probably small to medium exec diesel with the total pot and £150 a month finance over a couple of years.
c) Sell Fiesta, bank the proceeds and lease something small but brand spanking new for 2 years with my £150, adding in say £20 a month I'd have budgeted for repairs etc for the Fiesta.
My own thoughts are a) and b) I could get myself something decent, but with a car our of warranty and open to the issues many modern diesels can have.... b) also reducing disposable income
c) is a really interesting option - some lease deals available are pretty cheap even for personal users - 107/C1/Aygo and the CitiGo/Mii/Up all available with total amount to pay barely on a par with what a new buyer would lose in depreciation.
Power and performance of a car due to its useage doesnt really bother me, decent economy and road tax does, and insurance isnt a problem - low risk postcode, boring job, clean license, over 30 etc etc!
What do the PH masses think ? Views, opinons, thoughts and suggestions welcome!

I'm just focusing on this sentence. Do you really want to do this in an Aygo or equivalent?If you do, crack on.
If not and you're not bothered about driving fun/power/prestige etc. then consider:
(d) Keep your freshly MOT'd Fiesta if you think it's not worth much anyway til it dies of something critical and bank the extra money each month to increase the pot to fund its replacement.
