Right, apologies if I offend anyone. However, yesterday I had a great day as I saw 2 red Micras parked up on the side of the road with bits of bumper missing. This made me smile because as far as I can tell, these cars are driven exclusively by people who REALLY don't want to be driving. Cushions on the parcel shelf seems to be the norm. I mentioned my hatred to SWMBO and she said I was talking nonsense.....however after a few days of noticing that indeed nearly every queue of traffic was headed by a micra she now agrees with me.
Before anyone does it, yes I have seen the youtube vids of the bonkers fast micra.
I ask you PH, keep your eyes open and prove me wrong.
Also, every single one of the bloody things I get stuck behind is a 'special edition' Some stupid name Mr Nissan Marketing has thought up. Primo, Elle and Blue??????

Universally accepted that Micra means danger - the driver would rather be doing anything but driving and it shows.
Also, last time I was trying to enjoy some mountain biking at Puddletown forest, Micras were overrepresented amongst the middle-aged skivvy-wearing gents cruising the first 50m of forest at each car park, for cock.

Never held anyone up in my old Micra. OK that's not entirely true but I had the accelerator pedal nailed to the floor and it's as fast as the little 1.0 engine would go! I can promise one thing, I was smiling and having much more fun than all the fast cars behind me 
Go looking for any specific car and you'll spot loads of them. Honda Jizz seems to be the one normally at the front of a line of cars around here.

I particularly love the 1.0 16v versions.
Maybe I am wrong but every bloody one of them just seems to impede progress of everyone else. One of my mates got a hold of one for free and went 'rallying' in it. He reckoned they were awesome in fields! (Just looked at that and realized it sounds a bit like he nicked it.....farmers son, using his dads field and no...not a nicked micra, was going to the scrappies)

This is indeed excellent news, some years back I managed to kill one with a TVR when it tried to do a you turn on a bypass
It cost me a broken arm, but the TIV was repaired at her insurance Co expense, she was prosecuted for DWDCA, and the Micra ended up in the bin..... Oh and the driver whom already had a brain that didn't function on the same level as other drivers on that day, suffered a head injury due to crap on the parcel shelf flying forwards and t

We had a 1.4 auto as a courtesy car, we both really quite liked it, the frog shaped thing, roomy inside, quick enough and it felt like it would last a long time.
Drove my aunties earlier shape 1.0 one and what a slug that was, she does conform to the doesnt want to drive stereotype though, has only had three cars, all Nissans, bear in mind, this is from 1980 ish so they must be doing something right.

We've had ours 6 years and apart from a flat battery and needing a new distributor last month it's been utterly reliable and runs like clock work.

The Mk3s are getting rare, but anything 96 on is still fairly common.

).A neighbour has an M-reg 1.0 16V LX; never serviced or even looked after (the oil is like molasses
) it starts every day and gets her to work and back again. She says she can't afford to have it serviced - even if she pays for materials and I do the labour for free ...A friend had a brand new '94 model L-reg 1.0 16V LX, and it was a pretty useful bit of kit - refined on the motorway, held its own while being relaxed and very economical
. Not especially fast, but as a working tool that stepped up to the plate of foot-to-the-floor motoring and unerringly shrugged it off it was 100%.I had a 1.3 16v K11 as a stop gap. It was a shed, four different shades of red, with laquer peelling off everywhere, four mismatched budget tyres and just a general wreck!
Was surprisingly brisk, but didn't handle at all. I threw it in to a corner and it had a fit, went in every direction except the one I'd intended! Despite all this, it was quite fun to drive!

....or it falls into their budget of what is affordable at the time, economical cheap to tax insure etc. I can't remember his name but there is a famous ex rally driver who uses a W Yaris 1.0 as his daily transport because he loves the design and thrashable puny engine. So you need to be careful labelling drivers, there are too many spoilt college kids and young men in their 20's blasting around in cars way beyond their capabilities and a lot of older guys and girls who have probably had a fantastic stable of cars in their time but choose to run a Micra because they've done it, driven it and got the T-Shirt.
