ETA: The comments confirm what I thought. I looked at said car, and although it had branded tyres in good condition all round, there was some rust on the arches that had been repaired. The rest of the car is in very good condition, as you would expect from a 'modern' car (harder wearing materials on the interior etc.)
Starting it up revealed that it needed a Io2?? service (oil I think) and there was a fair amount of unexpected vibration - seemingly the exhaust is touching somewhere. I didn't drive it though.

It's a bit on the pricey side, this was bought nearly 3 years ago now with 4 months tax and test with 4 new tyres and 52,000 on the clock for £281 and has been trouble free. 
I have the 1.6 and its quite nippy and achieves around 40 mpg.
I would say a 2,8 in yellow is going to be an acquired taste and would reflect the resale.

At that age, in that colour, with that engine you would have to go a long way to find a harder car to sell on I think. People buying tired old Audis want the "imagine" but shoe string running costs. Add in rust repairs (on a galvanized car, no less) and I'd be walking rapidly away unless it was at shed money.
