Is My Car Too Boring?

PH, I feel I've made a terrible mistake...
My current car is an excellent example of the Ford Focus RS Mk2 which, in isolation, is an excellent car. Okay, it's a horrible colour and has a somewhat questionable image, but the fundamentals are there: a characterful engine that makes a brilliant sound, it's fun to drive, pretty quick and looks quite cool in a childish kind of way. The problem is, I can't help but think I kind of rushed into the purchase and overlooked the (admittedly very different) alternatives. For how I use it (i.e. not very much - 1500 miles since March!) I just feel what is ultimately a posh shopping car is just far too dull. I could (and should, I think) have bought something mental!
A few things have prompted this feeling, but I went on a Lotus factory tour on Wednesday and I fear that may have been the final nail in the Ford's coffin. Oddly, it wasn't the cars from Hethel that I really fell in love with...
It was this that I saw on the way home, currently sitting in Stratton's showroom:
Would I be mental to change my Focus for it?

Definately.
A Fast Focus is ok as a daily but nothing like special enough to have as a toy.
However I've had cars with no weather gear and the no. of days we get when it DEFINITELY won't rain are very few and coming into winter - how often are you going to use it in the next 5 months ?
Personally I'd look elsewhere.

Well yeah, that is a bit mad, however an Elise certainly isn't. You'd probably get the same smiles-per-mile too 
I can't help but feel that an Elise is a bit dull in comparison. 
(But not as dull as a Focus

OP, you chose a Focus
If you want something special how about the honda nsx or a s2000? Both still reliable and fun. Fwiw I still think a focus rs is fun enough for most petrolheads (I used to have the St)

The more sensible option is to get a Lotus. Even a 1.6 Elise will be a far more satisfying car than your Focus.
However the Morgan is a very special little thing. Get my May fizzy bit fizzing every time I see one. They look brilliant fun and sound awesome. Also the fact that you wont loose any money on it if you keep it for 20 years.

Do it, I (and many others on here) will be eternally jealous of you. I want a Morgan 3 wheeler more than almost anything else right now - having fun on the road isn't about going as fast as possible, you want to be able to push the limits at sensible speeds and that's exactly what the Morgan is designed to do.

I get your point if it's someone doing 3000 miles a year, but to anyone doing who does a lot of miles (like me for example, 8000 in the last five weeks), fuel economy is a pretty high ranking factor in a car purchase.ETA: Just looked at your profile. You seem like a bit of a t
