Question re. servicing

I bought my first ever brand new car in January this year, and it's going in for its first service in a fortnight, with the main dealer. The dealer is lending me a car, and no doubt before being given the keys they will do a damage assessment and I'll have to sign a form agreeing its condition. Is it reasonable for me to do the same thing with my car? It is absolutely unmarked, no curbed alloys, scratches, or supermarket dings, and I want it back the same way. Has anyone made a dealer sign a similar form?

My dealer does one whenever they collect my car.

Take photo's the day before and note the mileage. Be polite but make them aware you will be inspecting it carefully after the work is done. What car is it?

It's nothing special. A VW Tiguan 4 Motion, but it's mine, and I like to look after it.

Its quite fair. Our local Seat garage does just this. You want your car back as you left it, so do they.

The garage i worked at would check both cars over before the customer departed.

It serves the garage because they cant get blamed for damage that was there when the car came in.
