Skoda Octavia VRS vs. Seat Leon FR

Just out of interest, anybody drove/owned back to back?

Yes actually, but it was an FR diesel and a VRS petrol, so not like for like,

The Leon was an early model, 2006 or 2007 and the ride was awful and I couldnt get comfortable in the seats. A very quick car on boost but felt sluggish off the line..

The VRS was superb!! Loads of space, brilliant TSI engine, felt really rapid in 3rd gear and decent ride. Obviously you would have to try a diesel VRS v diesel FR or a petrol VRS v petrol FR, but personally Id take the Skoda every day of the week, I just couldnt live with the awful ride on the SEAT, although I believe post 2009 they are better!

The interior of the 05 on VRS is nothing to get excited about, but the equivalent age Seat has a big expanse of grey plastic on the dash.

I'd buy a VRS of those two anyway, I think it looks better.
