Used car advice

Hi all,

Firstly apologies if this is posted in the wrong section but I'd like a bit of advice about a second car I'm about to buy. I have a Ford Puma at the moment for my second car and it still puts a smile on my face every time i take it on a twisty road but it's time for a change as it's now over ten years old. I'd been thinking about a BMW 3 series coupe (325i) but I drove a couple and wasn't really blown away as much as I was expecting to be. As a complete change I then drove the Renaultsport Megane 250 and loved it (my wife did too, importnantly) but just wanted to check I wasn't making a mistake or missing anything I should be considering. My other car's a Skoda Octavia VRS estate (albeit diesel) but I think any other VAG hot hatches would be too similar. My budget's about £15k (+/- £1500) but th car must have two usable back seats for my children - I would like the car to be a usable alternative to the Octavia. Mileage anticipated to be no more than 8k a year so petrol's fine. Hopefully you'll all tell me how brilliant the Megane really is but I guess I just want some reassurance!!

From experience of company cars... Renault will fall apart and give you electrical nightmares. Ive had 2 Lagunas and an ex had a clio 172 cup. All 3 were a disaster from the start
