Is it just unfortunate me or are modern car alarms a pain. I stay in a street with 8 new build houses. The cars in my street consist of various Fords,Volvo's,BMW,MB etc. All only 2 years old or newer, and at least once EVEY night one of there alarms go off. Que the frantic man/woman running outside walking round the car and resetting the alarm and walking back in. With all that cars can do now, is a fooking alarm that does not go off because a bird st on a roof not possible.

I used to have great fun in my previous job trying to set off car alarms with the ancient fleet of school coaches/buses they had. The merc coach with a 15 litre (I think) V12 engine was especially good at that, along with an old double decker with a blowing side-exit exhaust smile

There's loads of MINIs in our work car park, and every time I reverse up to the back of one in the Elise it sets the alarm off. smile

They do seem to be exceptionally sensitive.
