Apparently a prototype of a new speed camera being trialled.

Sneaky bds.

Shouldn't these be painted yellow?

I thought that as well, seeing as they are supposed to be "clearly visible".

Mind you, I always look out for the lines in the road rather than the scamera itself

What a daft idea. Why locate a camera in a spot that's going to require you to keep on top of the weeding or necessitate the need to concrete the verge to prevent plant growth.

those are speed cameras from Switzerland, the same pics have been going round for years as a hoax, saying they are installed in UK, Germany, Spain, US, etc etc

No sign of any electrical connection............looks more to me like some sort of expansion joint in the barrier.

But would you notice lines painted on the opposite barrier as they would be for this camera?

It's not in the UK, possibly swizzlerland and it's a trigger for a speed camera, not the camera its self.

Also if it's on the A52, what section? I did the section out of Nottingham down to the M1 daily up until July and there certainly wasn't a camera there then. Not that you can ever get much speed up there, especially when one lane is closed due to puddles rolleyes

When I went to the Costa Blanca in summer, I rather liked all the speed cameras which had all been smashed up. Seems the Spaniards are a little more insistent on retaining their rights to drive as they please.

Following the links through to the Swiss document 'swisscheese' it looks as if it might be a vehicle spacing sensor, or tailgating detector. Wish I'd paid attention in my French lessons...

Doesn't look like it would take more than 10-15 mins to unbolt and remove. Even quicker and easier to vandalise!
