What do people make of this?

"SHOWING 53K MILES SHOWS MAYBE INCORRECT ON HPI CHECK SO WE ARE SELLING MILEAGE INCORRECT TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN"

How can they get away with that?

I really can't see any problem.

Is it okay to sell a car when you have no clue about the mileage?

I thought that would be a bit naughty?

Seem entirely open and honest to me.
Are you suggesting this car can never be sold?

I have abolutely no idea how many miles my old Motorbike has got and because the MOT struggles with the aftermarket speedo/odo the record suggest it did 45k miles last year (where 45 would be nearer the mark)

The mileage might well be correct. This could indicate that someone has HPI'd the car in the past and put a higher mileage in in error so when this dealer has HPI'd it with correct mileage it looks lower then when it was carried out in the past.

The dealer is doing the right thing by being upfront with potential buyer. Could have had s speedo change at some point?

Ahhhhh, I guess you could probably work it out with the service history too

Or it could just be a normal disclaimer.

How many people can honestly say that the mileage on their car is 100% correct?

This could only be verifiable if nobody else has ever driven it.

It just threw me a bit, they have a lot of good looking stock.

Given that it's a 2005 car, won't you have 6 or 7 MOTs to check through which will show the mileage each year from three years old onwards?
