Given that everything eco-related is supposed to be green, why do motor manufacturers give their eco (low powered, small engined) cars blue names?

blueefficiency, Blue motion, Blue drive...

Why blue?

I think it was a gentlemens agreement not to use green

And lets face it no car is enviromentally friendly just some as less enviromentally unfriendly then others

Why blue?
Because "Brown motion" wouldn't have quite the same ring to it?

Future models will use adblue, just working it in slowly. Already do in some countries.

Could be something to do with Blue Angel being a German eco organisation that rates products. Blue is certainly a term that has been applied to heating boilers for some time.

At a guess a reference to the blue of an unpolluted sky rather than the green of growing plants.

Blue porno material, blue steaks (half-baked) and boom, boom, boom, boom, Esso Blue.

Or none of the above.

No idea but passenger cars with adblue diesel engines are definitely already in use in some countries so can't help but assume the EU will make that compulsory just like all these other stupid standards
